SerpKite is a Google SERP API built for AI agents. You send a query, you get Google’s results as clean JSON or LLM-ready Markdown in about a second. Here’s what we built and why.

Why another SERP API

Three things happened in the last eighteen months:

  • Google made scraping harder. JavaScript became mandatory in January 2025, num=100 stopped working in September 2025, and in August 2026 result links turned into encoded /goto redirects. Naive scrapers fail silently.
  • Official options went away. The Bing Search API was retired on August 11, 2025. The Google Custom Search JSON API shuts down on January 1, 2027. Brave dropped its no-card free tier in February 2026.
  • Agents became the main consumer. A full Google SERP as JSON can run to tens of thousands of tokens. Agents need less structure and more signal.

The cheap APIs were thin on AI features and expired your credits. The rich ones cost 10–25× more. We wanted budget-tier simplicity and price with the correctness and agent features of the premium tier.

What you get

  • Official SDKs. npm install serpkite, pip install serpkite or the Go module: typed responses, retries and batch polling built in. Native tools for LangChain (langchain-serpkite) and CrewAI (serpkite[crewai]). SDK docs.
  • A drop-in for Google Custom Search. GET /customsearch/v1 with key, cx, q, start and num, returning items[]. Migration guide.
  • LLM-ready output. format=markdown, format=compact and fields= projection, with a token estimate in every response header.
  • Resolved URLs, always. link is the destination, never a Google redirect, and every result has a canonical domain.
  • Verticals: News, Images, Videos, Maps, Places, Reviews, Shopping, Scholar, Patents, Autocomplete, Lens, and a Webpage-to-Markdown endpoint.
  • A batch lane at 50% off for rank trackers and bulk jobs, with webhooks.
  • An official remote MCP server at api.serpkite.com/v1/mcp for Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT and any MCP client.

Pricing and terms

One credit is one Google results page. Packs run from $10 for 10,000 credits ($1.00 per 1k) to $300 for 500K ($0.60 per 1k), with larger volumes on request, and credits never expire. Failed, empty and blocked requests are not billed, and every response tells you what it cost. The free tier is 2,500 credits on signup (1,000 on email, 1,500 more when you link GitHub or Google) and 1,000 a month after that, with no card. Details on pricing.

Privacy and collection

We never log your queries, results are cached for a few hours under a hashed key, and usage logs keep metadata only, for 31 days. We collect logged-out public results through proxies and never scrape behind a login. The full policy is on how we collect data, and we wrote up the legal landscape too.

What’s not here yet

We’d rather say it up front:

  • Google only. Bing, DuckDuckGo, Brave and Yandex via engine= are planned for Q1 2027.
  • No SOC 2 yet. It’s planned. Query text is never logged and a DPA is available; an EU processing region is on the enterprise roadmap.
  • Benchmarks are coming. We’ll publish latency, success rate and parse quality monthly on /benchmarks, with the scripts, rather than quote numbers you can’t reproduce.

Try it

Run a query in the playground without signing up, or get a key, npm install serpkite or pip install serpkite, and run your first search. Apps on Google Custom Search can point their existing code at api.serpkite.com/customsearch/v1. Tell us what breaks: [email protected].
