n8n + SerpKite
Search Google from any n8n workflow or AI Agent with the built-in HTTP Request node: one header credential, one JSON body. An official SerpKite node is on the way.
Official n8n node coming soon
A SerpKite community node (and verification after) is on our roadmap. The HTTP Request setup below keeps working after it ships.
Overview
What n8n is, and where SerpKite fits
n8n is a workflow automation tool with a strong AI agent story. Until the SerpKite community node ships, the built-in HTTP Request node does everything: it can call any SerpKite endpoint, and the HTTP Request Tool variant plugs into an AI Agent node.
Save your key once as a Header Auth credential (Authorization: Bearer …) so it never appears in the workflow JSON.
Setup
Set it up in 5 steps
-
1
Get an API key
Sign up (no card), create a key in the dashboard and export it as
SERPKITE_API_KEY. New accounts get 2,500 free credits, then 1,000 every month.export SERPKITE_API_KEY=skt_live_… -
2
Create a Header Auth credential
In n8n go to Credentials → Add credential → Header Auth. Name:
Authorization. Value:Bearer skt_live_…(your key afterBearer). -
3
Add an HTTP Request node
Method
POST, URLhttps://api.serpkite.com/v1/search. Authentication: Generic Credential Type → Header Auth, and pick the credential. -
4
Send a JSON body
Turn on Send Body, choose JSON, and use an expression for the query, e.g.
{"q": "{{ $json.query }}", "country": "us"}. -
5
Use the results
The output has
results,people_also_ask,related_searchesand more. Add a Split Out node onresultsto get one item per result.
Code
Importable workflow
Copy this JSON and paste it into an n8n canvas (Ctrl/Cmd+V). Then select your Header Auth credential on the HTTP Request node.

Give an n8n AI Agent Google search
Attach an HTTP Request Tool to the AI Agent's Tool input. Use the same URL and Header Auth credential, and set the tool description to tell the model when to search.
In the JSON body, let the model fill the query with {{ $fromAI('query', 'what to search Google for') }}. Add "format": "markdown" so the agent gets compact text instead of a large JSON object.
{
"q": "{{ $fromAI('query', 'what to search Google for') }}",
"country": "us",
"format": "markdown"
}Recipes
