Acceptable Use Policy

Effective 3 October 2026.

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It exists to keep the Service lawful, reliable and available at fair prices for everyone. If you're unsure whether a use is allowed, ask [email protected] first.

What SerpKite is for

Building products and workflows on top of public search results: AI agents and assistants, research and monitoring tools, SEO and rank tracking, market and price research, local business and market mapping, content and RAG pipelines, and similar.

You may not

Resell or redistribute the Service

  • Resell, sublicense or provide raw API access (or a thin wrapper around it) to third parties, including as a competing search, SERP or scraping API.
  • Build a public search engine or bulk dataset of results that substitutes for the underlying search engine.
  • Share API keys outside your organization. Use one key per application or environment.

Using results inside your own product, where results are part of a larger service you provide, is fine. Contact sales for reseller or OEM terms.

Abuse the free tier or accounts

  • Create multiple accounts, or use disposable emails or aliases, to obtain additional free credits.
  • Share, sell or transfer accounts or credits.
  • Evade rate limits, spend caps, suspensions or bans.

Break the law or harm people

  • Any use that violates applicable law, including privacy, data protection, consumer protection and export control laws.
  • Stalking, harassment, doxxing, or people-search that profiles private individuals without a lawful basis.
  • Discrimination in housing, credit, employment or insurance decisions based on results.
  • Building datasets for spam, phishing, fraud, election manipulation or malware.
  • Building contact lists for cold outreach, bulk email or SMS, or other unsolicited marketing.
  • Running an OSINT or people-search service that aggregates, searches or exposes data about individuals, or reselling or distributing personal data found through results.
  • Downloading or ripping media (for example videos or music) from the sites that results link to.
  • Using the Service for, or on behalf of, a person, organization or country on a U.S., EU or UK sanctions list.
  • Infringing intellectual property, for example republishing copyrighted content or licensed images found through results.

Go beyond public, logged-out data

  • Use the Service, including /webpage, to access content behind a login, paywall or access control, or to submit credentials or session cookies of any kind.
  • Target a site to overload it, or use the Service against sites that have asked you to stop.
  • Use SerpKite to extract content from sites whose content the search engine displays under license, for example bulk-extracting Reddit threads through search results.

Attack the Service

  • Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service except under our responsible disclosure policy.
  • Interfere with the Service, other users, or our providers, including by sending synthetic or deliberately wasteful traffic.
  • Reverse engineer the Service to build a competing product.

Your responsibility for results

Results can contain personal data (for example, when you search a person's name) and third-party content. You're responsible for having a lawful basis to process it and for how you store, use and publish it.

Verification and high volume

We may ask accounts with high volumes (for example, above 5 million requests a month) or unusual patterns to verify their identity and use case before continuing service.

Enforcement

We monitor usage metadata (not query text) for abuse. If we believe you've violated this policy we may throttle, suspend or terminate the affected keys or account, withdraw free credits, and, where appropriate, report unlawful activity. Where practical we'll contact you first.

Report suspected misuse of SerpKite to [email protected]. We aim to respond within 48 hours. Legal notices go to [email protected].
